WHO launches new clinical trials guidance - What do I need to know?
WHO and The Global Health Network invite you to a global event where experts will present the WHO’s New Clinical Trials Guidance’s key aspects and learn how it can help support and strengthen your research.
In September 2024, WHO published its groundbreaking guidance on best practices for clinical trials - establishing, for the first time, a global framework that allows for strengthening of the clinical trial environment and infrastructure, including to improve design of clinical trials, with insights relevant to observational studies as well.
Join WHO’s Chief Scientist, Jeremy Farrar as he presents this milestone in clinical research, followed by a detailed overview from WHO's Research for Health Senior Advisor, Vasee Moorthy. This session will highlight key aspects of the guidance, including embedding ethical research within health systems, fostering diverse, active clinical research networks, and prioritizing patient and community interaction across the trial lifecycle.
The objectives of this webinar are as followed:
- To understand how WHO can enable high quality work in clinical research
- To outline how stakeholders can use the guidance to advance patient-centered ethical research
- To discuss how implementation could lead to more enabling, more efficient clinical research ecosystems
- To raise awareness of a forthcoming Global Action Plan on Clinical Trial Ecosystem Strengthening
- To catalyse discussions on what stakeholder groups can do to take forward actions aligned with their strategies.
This event will empower participants to leverage WHO’s guidance to simplify clinical research, foster inclusivity, and improve trial approval processes. A live Q&A will provide opportunities to engage directly.
The webinar will take place on 13 December 2024 at 14:00 CET.
Live translation will be available in Arabic, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
You can join the event on Zoom or watch the livestream on YouTube.
