PPI Survey

Patient and public engagement is increasingly recognised as an important component of effective infectious disease research and pandemic preparedness. Involving patients, carers, and the broader public can improve the relevance, acceptability, and impact of research and preparedness strategies.

Within the CoMeCT Project, we are conducting a short survey to explore current practices and perspectives on patient engagement in pandemic preparedness.

Purpose of the survey

The survey aims to capture multi-stakeholder views on:

  • current practices of patient and public engagement
  • the perceived importance of patient involvement in pandemic preparedness
  • barriers that limit meaningful engagement
  • factors that enable successful collaboration
  • priorities for future initiatives in infectious disease research and preparedness

Understanding these perspectives will help identify opportunities to strengthen patient involvement in preparedness planning and guide future research activities that better integrate patient and public engagement.

Who can participate?

The survey is open to a broad range of stakeholders, including:

  • patients and carers
  • patient representatives and advocacy organisations
  • healthcare professionals
  • researchers
  • policymakers and public health stakeholders

The questionnaire takes approximately five minutes to complete.

Data protection and confidentiality

Participation in the survey is voluntary and anonymous. No directly identifiable personal data is collected.

All responses will be analysed and reported only in aggregated form. Data are processed and stored in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national data protection regulations.

By completing the questionnaire, participants confirm that they are at least 18 years old and consent to the use of their responses for scientific purposes.
